A DAY-OLD baby girl found abandoned on a bench has been named after the police officer who took her to hospital.
Newborn Charlotte is said to be doing well after being found by a passer-by in Hailesland Park in Wester Hailes, Edinburgh, at about 12.55pm yesterday.
There was no sign of the baby's mother in the area and police are checking CCTV in an attempt to trace her. Medics advised she will require urgent medical attention.
