BIG BEN - London

Big Ben

Big Ben was built in the eighteenth century
chimes have been heard by us all
as children we learnt about it
named after minister Ben Hall.

The deep boom of the bell rang out
during two wars every hour
standing while London was bombed
Big Ben, our mighty tower.

In the old days it was wound up
which must have taken men so long
now it's run by electricity
since installed, never going wrong.

Big Ben will remain for generations
more children will learn and see
and the bell will keep broadcasting
all over the world by the BBC.
